Keep these three best practices in mind when you’re ready to sell.

1. Price Your Home Right

If you price your house too high, you run the risk of deterring buyers. And if you go too low, you’re leaving money on the table. Experienced Real Estate Broker, Sheralyn McVeigh can help determine what your ideal asking price should be, so your house moves quickly and for top dollar.

2. Keep Your Emotions in Check

Today, homeowners are staying in their houses longer than they used to. According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), since 1985, the average time a homeowner has owned their home has increased from 6 to 10 years.

This is much more than what used to be the norm. The side effect, however, is when you stay in one place for so long, you may get even more emotionally attached to your space. That’s why you need a real estate professional to help you with the negotiations and the best pricing strategy along the way. Trust the professionals who have your best interests in mind.

3. Stage Your Home Properly

While you may love your decor and how you’ve customized your house over the years, not all buyers will feel the same way about your vibe. As Jessica Lautz, Deputy Chief Economist and Vice President of Research at NAR, says: “Buyers want to easily envision themselves within a new home and home staging is a way to showcase the property in its best light.”
If you’re considering selling your house, contact Sheralyn 714-746-7088 so you have help navigating the process while prioritizing these must-do’s.

If you’re getting ready to buy your first home, you’re likely focused on saving up for everything that purchase involves. One cost that’s likely top of mind is your down payment. But don’t let a common misconception about how much you need to save make the process harder than it could be.

Understand 20% Isn’t Always the Typical Down Payment

Freddie Mac explains:

“. . . nearly a third of prospective homebuyers think they need a down payment of 20% or more to buy a home. This myth remains one of the largest perceived barriers to achieving homeownership.

Unless specified by your loan type or lender, it’s typically not required to put 20% down. This means you could be closer to your homebuying dream than you realize. According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the median down payment hasn’t been over 20% since 2005. In fact, the median down payment today is only 14%. And it’s even lower for first-time homebuyers at just 6% (see graph below):

10 Things You Should Know Before Moving to Orange County http://mcveighproperties.com/10-things-you-should-know-before-moving-to-orange-county/ Wed, 21 Feb 2018 05:14:26 +0000 http://mcveighproperties.com/?p=4403 You hear a lot about Orange County on tv from the show The OC to the Orange County Housewives, but you’ll never know what it’s really like moving to Orange County unless you get moving there yourself! If you don’t know why to get moving to Orange County, head on over to this City Snapshot telling you why moving to Orange County is the coolest!

  1. Moving to Orange County is nothing like what you see on television. Don’t be expecting to be living the life you’ve seen on Laguna Beach or The Hills before moving to Orange County with no traffic and luxury for all.
  2. Ironically, moving in Orange County is the one thing you can’t do if there is traffic on the freeway! But upon moving to Orange County, you’ll figure out the flow and get around like an Orange County native!
  3. Ignore the weather forecast if you’re moving to Orange County. It’s always sunny.Much like Los Angeles, Orange County is almost always 70 degrees with the sun shining bright in the sky. There are pretty much two seasons: rain and summer.
  4. There’s an incredible variety of food. You can find whatever you want upon moving to Orange County. The Mexican food is especially good, but that’s just my opinion. Figure out what you like best once you’re moving to Orange County.
  5. Moving to Orange County is moving to the suburbs.  There are great parks, close proximity to shopping and restaurants, but there’s not a lot of individuality. Living and moving in Orange County is like living in a bubble.
  6. When you’re moving to Orange County, you’ll notice the prices for homes can get pretty pricey, but it’s worth the trade off of 340+ days of sunshine. If you look in the right places, you can definitely find a home ready for moving to Orange County!
  7. Moving to Orange County means there’s always something to do! Whether you’re going to Disneyland or to a beach bonfire, entertainment is never far! Some places are open until 2am in the morning which means you have plenty of time to have fun!
  8. If you aren’t tanned, expect to get a tan after moving to Orange County. Invest in a wet suit, and get ready for beach side living! There are plenty of beautiful free beaches to head to at any time of day! Get moving to Orange County for some awesome sun and surf!
  9. Living and moving in Orange County means living outdoors! Much of life is experienced outdoors with such great outdoor parks and beaches nearby. Whether it’s taking a walk at the park, skateboarding, or surfing, you’ll be out on the town moving in Orange County. (There’s even farms if you know where to look, so get moving in Orange County and explore!)
  10. Another thing you’ll realize once you’re moving to Orange County is that no one refers to it as the OC. In fact, don’t be surprised if a native corrects you, it’s bound to happen if you get moving to Orange County.

That’s all for now! Have fun getting moving to Orange County!
